About This Hunt
DESCRIPTION OF HUNT
A great package for a first-time hunter to Africa, or a guy that has been over and wants to improve his trophy quality! This package has a nice balance of big and small plains game to test any hunter.
The Gemsbuck and Springbok are true to our area, Springbok are usually hunted in open areas and shots are taken at a great distance. They are not tough animals but hard to hit at a distance in tall grass. A special trophy once harvested. Also is the South Africa National animal.
When hunting Gemsbuck and Wildebeest you must know that you are in for a challenge! Both male and females have horns and also both prefer to live in big herds. Getting close to them is not easy. Shot placement is key when harvesting these great animals. Their vitals sit low on both, also their spines sit very low on the neck.
We will start early in the morning by searching for the big herds on the back of a 4×4 land cruiser. Once we spot some at a distance we will get off and do a stalk. If there is a good representative of the species and once the hunter and guide are happy we will try and harvest the animal. Getting close to big herds like this is very exciting and a hunt not to forget.
Warthog roam across southern Africa and are usually in small groups. Old males tend to walk alone. The most success we have is from blinds at waterholes. Pigs drink every day and spend a lot of time at the water. You could also get lucky by running across one while on a stalk but that is uncommon.
Last but not least, we have the Kudu. The Grey Ghost and one of Africas top plains game! Kudu are very clever, they have great eye site and some of the best senses of smell but their strongest trade must be the way they camouflage themselves by just standing still and letting you pass by. We hunt them in high fenced areas as well as free-range spots. they occur naturally in our area and we produce some of the best Kudu hunting in the world. Bulls between 50”-60” are expected. Getting close to a big Kudu bull on foot can be an overwhelming experience, to say the least, and a must for any true hunter. This outfitter will give you a 110% experience of Africa, not only giving you the chance to harvest good trophies but to help you understand our culture, food, people and trackers. It’s the whole experience!
