This is an Eland Hunt of a lifetime! This hunt is primarily flat terrain, with many thorn trees and some open areas.
The average shots with a rifle are 125 yards and with a bow 25 yards.
This will mostly be a walk and stalk with a rifle, at waterholes with a bow or crossbow.
We conduct hunting safaris throughout the year; however, we recommend the months of April through to October.
Each hunt is planned in detail to suit the personal requirements of the hunter and non-hunting observers.
Our typical hunting day will start at the crack of dawn after a small breakfast of coffee, cereal, and toast (or whatever the client prefers). Then you and your professional hunter will be off to one of our well-managed concession areas or one of our private ranches where you will spend the entire morning hunting depending on the hunting area and game animal you’re after, you might spend the whole day out, in that case, we will supply a lunch box and plenty of refreshments for the day. Should you not stay out the entire day we usually have brunch at around 11 o’clock, then it is time for a quick siesta. We will start the afternoon hunt as soon as the client is ready to go.
Most important is that we cater to each client’s needs. We will make recommendations; however, the final decision rests with the client in which way he wants to hunt. Our preferred method is to use one of our well-equipped hunting vehicles until we spot the trophy we after, then make a stalk. We have 36 species on our trophy list. Therefore, it is important to note that all the species do not naturally occur in all the hunting areas, and it is essential that we know what your priority animals are. In addition, the client must understand that there will be some traveling involved for some species.
7-day hunt – Beginning any day of the week that you prefer.

The season is from April until the end of October.
The hunter is growing impatient now; he has been in his tree stand since 5 o’clock. Since this morning, there has been quite a bit of activity around his stand. Two eland bulls and some cows have passed below his position but haven’t offered him a clear shot. Then, a rustle, two bushbuck ewes gallop by, but that’s not what he came for. Suddenly the bush goes quiet; he hears the faint sound of something big moving through the grass. Slowly he turns in the direction of the sound, and his heart skips a beat; just behind a clump of bushes is the biggest bull he has ever seen, but the bull is not offering a good shot at its vital. He waits patiently for what seems like an eternity. Finally, it seems his luck is about to change, the massive bull moves forward, and the hunter draws his bow; he takes careful aim and lets his arrow fly…
Now that’s the excitement of an African bow hunting safari, and that’s what we want you to experience. Your professional hunter will ensure that you obtain your trophies in a sportsmanlike and ethical manner; he will expose you to the widest variety of game species, landscapes, and habitats in all of South Africa. And see to it that your South African Safari will be an unforgettable one that you will cherish forever.
BOWS:
Recurve – 60 lbs min – plains game
Recurve – 95 lbs min – big five
Compound – 60 lbs min – plains game
Compound – 80 lbs min – dangerous game
ARROWS:
This must be one of the most debatable subjects among bowhunters! We prefer a fixed blade broadheads, for example, Muzzy, Montec G5, Thunderheads. However, for dangerous game, a two-blade fix with a total arrow weight of a minimum of 850gr is required.
400 grains minimum – plains game.
850 grains minimum – buffalo.
We don’t recommend lightweight arrows
We would recommend that you use a minimum of a .30 caliber rifle on all plains game, with a 3 to 9 variable scope, and a minimum of a 180gr high-quality soft nose cartridge such as a Swift A-frame. A .375 or bigger with a compact scope and high-quality swing-off mounts is recommended for the dangerous game. On the cats, we recommend a soft nose.
For Cape Buffalo – bring a good supply of high-quality soft nose cartridges as well as some solids. For Elephant, Rhino, and Hippo – use only solids.
Most important – use a rifle that you feel comfortable with and has used successfully in the past. Should you prefer, you are more than welcome to rent one of our rifles that way you do not go through the hassle of carrying a rifle on the plane.
