About This Hunt
Our lodge is located on the South Island of New Zealand. This is a beautiful river valley flowing through temperate rainforest and large stands of beech trees. The water is crystal clear and home to giant brown trout.
We own 10,000+ acres of pristine private land and we offer low elevation rainforest hunts for Red Stag.
Most hunts are high fence and with this hunt being in the rainforest and spot-and-stalk these are challenging and very rewarding hunts.
Red Stags can be hunted from February to August with the Rut being March to mid-May. During the Rut, the Red Stags 'roar' and challenge each other for dominance. The Rut is an almost primeval time to see these monarchs at their greatest. Aggressive fighting is common between dominant stags and often then these great battles result in the loser leaving mortally wounded.

$6,500 – Basic Red Stag Package up to 360" - One (1) Hunter

Red Stag Trophy Fees:
- Up to 330 SCI: $3,500
- 330 - 360 SCI: $5,500
- 360 - 380 SCI: $7,500
- 380 - 400 SCI: $10,000
- 400 - 420 SCI: $12,500
- 420+ SCI: POA

Spike Camps
