About This Hunt
This exciting and fun bow hunt for Hogs begins at noon on Friday and ends at noon on Sunday.
The Lazy S Ranch consists of 622 acres and is located 1 hour west of Fort Worth, Texas.
We do not allow firearms on our ranch for hunting since this is a “bowhunting only ranch.” However, firearms are allowed and welcome on our ranch for self-protection! Please obey firearm safety at all times.
You will typically see Hogs in many sizes and colors during your stay with us. They can be red, black, grey, or white with brown-black spots. They will vary in size from piglets to large adult Boars and Sows.
All hunting will be conducted from ground blinds at corn feeders that feed the animals each morning and evening. We do not hunt at night since the Hogs do not get excessive hunting pressure; therefore will come to the feeders during daylight hours.
While on your hunting adventure with us, you may take unlimited hogs of any size and unlimited Coyotes and Bobcats.
If you feel the need or are afraid of snakes, please bring snake protection for yourself since this hunt does not provide any snake protection. Like many places you hunt, there are poisonous snakes on the Lazy S Ranch, such as rattlesnakes and copperheads.
Make sure to bring a Texas Hunting license, your bow, sharp broadheads, arrows, ice chest, hunting clothes, and personal items. This is all you will need for your exciting hog hunting adventure.
Your hunt includes delicious home-cooked meals, comfortable lodging, transportation to and from your hunting blind, and a place to skin your Hogs.
Once you have unpacked and settled into your room, we can have a quick lunch before taking a few practice shots to ensure your bow is sighted in correctly. We have 3-D animal targets that you can shoot at any distance, although your shots in the field for Hogs are set up at 20 yards.
There will often be so many Hogs in front of you that you will have to wait for others to move out of the way before taking the shot at the Hog you want to harvest.
After recovering your Hog and taking photos of your trophy, we can load it on the Polaris and take your Hog back to the skinning area. If you are not experienced with skinning, your trophy Hog will be skinned and quartered for you at an additional cost to your hunt price. After skinning and quartering your trophy Hog, it can be placed in your ice chest with ice for safekeeping while transporting it back home to the meat processor or the taxidermist.
