Hunt includes 2 nights, 3 days hunting. personal guide (usually the same guide for the duration of the hunt), world-class food (including steak dinner cooked over an open fire, wild game, etc. Use of outfitter's guns and ammo is free of charge if desired by the guest. Includes stock tank bass fishing, use of rifle range, and clay shooting. Also includes full use of the lodge and swimming pool, weather permitting.
Typically hunters arrive in the early afternoon on day 1. After a substantial snack and drinks, the hunters are taken to the rifle range and expected to demonstrate proficiency with their chosen weapon. The last shot taken at the shooting range (if with a gun) is generally at a 1/2 pound jar of Tannerite at 100 yards. Once the hunter demonstrates an ability to hit this target, the range session will be complete.
At roughly 2:30 or 3:00 on day 1, hunters are paired with their guides and taken to their blinds in a Kawasaki Mule and dropped off with drinks and snacks. The first hunt will conclude at dark, at which time the hunter and guide will be picked up and taken back to the lodge for dinner, which on day 1 includes a HUGE 1.5" thick prime ribeye steak cooked over an open fire, a baked potato or sweet potato, a salad, and dessert, along with great wine. After dinner, hunters are free to relax by the fire either inside or outside. There are TVs by both fires and drinks will be served at hunter's request.
Hunters will sleep in queen beds in the lodge. Each room is double occupancy, though hunters will never be asked to share a room with someone not in their party. Each room has two queen beds, a private bathroom, and a TV.
Before dawn on day 2, hunters will be served breakfast and coffee and be taken to their blinds with their guides. They will be picked up at roughly 10:30 and brought back to the lodge, where they can get cleaned up and relax before lunch. Lunch usually consists of a 12-hour smoked and shredded pork butt made into tacos with all the trimmings. After lunch, hunters can relax, go fishing, shooting clays, or rest before the afternoon hunt.
At roughly 2:30 or 3:00, hunters will be taken to their blinds with their guides for the evening hunt which will end at dark when they will return to the lodge for dinner and drinks. The second night will look much like the first.
On day 3, the hunter will get up before dawn, be served a big breakfast, then head to their blinds with their guides. The morning hunt typically ends about 10:30, when the hunters usually come back to the lodge, get cleaned up and packed up, then eat lunch. Hunters typically leave after lunch.
Though hunts are typically conducted from blinds, we sometimes spot and stalk. Hunters - especially bowhunters - may hunt outside of blinds with camouflage, scent blocker, and camo face paint if they so choose after talking with their guide about the best opportunity to harvest the animal of their choice.
We guarantee the opportunity at a trophy animal - though not necessarily at a SPECIFIC animal. Though we have never had a hunter leave without the animal of their choice, this could certainly happen. If no opportunity for a trophy animal is presented, the hunter will pay the $2,500 minimum price but may return to the lodge at another time with no minimum fee to try to take the animal of their choice. This has never happened, but there is always the chance that it will because these are animals that move around as they please. We can never guarantee where they will be.
Before the first hunt, we will show the hunter pictures and pricing on all available animals so that they can choose the animal they wish to target. Even though they may have come for a specific animal they saw on Quality Hunts, hunters often see these photos and videos and choose to target a different animal.
Guides will always video each hunt, and at the end of the stay, hunters will be given an SD memory card containing the videos and photos of their hunt. Guides will also take pictures of the hunter with the animal at the successful conclusion of the hunt, and prepare the animal for delivery to the taxidermist/meat processor.
We recommend a highly respected taxidermy for both taxidermy and processing. They do a world-class job and are used by many well-known hunters such as Pigman and Ted Nugent. Hunters will pay taxidermist directly, but we will hand deliver the animal to the taxidermy at no charge, and if the hunter is in Texas, we will hand deliver both the meat and the finished trophy mount to the hunter's home or office once they are completed. This means that if the hunter allows us to use our recommended taxidermist, they will not have to do anything with the animal at all. We will take care of it start to finish. The hunter will not have to be concerned with taking the carcass home, delivering it to both a processor and a taxidermist, or picking up the meat and trophy when they are completed. We will take care of everything!
At the conclusion of the hunt, the hunter will be given our special outfitter branded cap, coffee cup, and a framed photo of the animal(s) that they harvest. Shirts and jackets will be available for purchase and reasonable prices.
